So the band has a rather short set to really show off to a crowd of 60,000 for Larkfest in Albany on Saturday. You guys are the experts. What select songs should the band play to really impress the crowd of mostly people new to MGM? Let's say they can only play 8 songs (really they'll get a few more, but we want to know your favorites).
To make things a bit easier... here's a 25 songs they've been playing lately...

Hey

I just decided that I should put in my 8 songs in too. And also point out that Sleepy Brown and Joe totally don't know how to count to 8. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the people who came up with those two lists were related!
Ok.. here we go.. this is the list of not necessarily my favorites, but the songs that are most likely to win over the LarkFest audience.
Sometimes (start right off with the radio hit)
Reggae People (catch people with a different singer and a danceable groove for all ages)
I Am The Walrus (Some people have said "you can't cover the Beatles." After seeing MGM rip this out, they'll have to add in the disclaimer "unless your monkey gone mad".)
You Can Lie (yet another singer! and nothing says "promise me you'll never die, and i'll make love to you right now" better. Except maybe Lisa from Team America).
Right Now (and another lead singer! and a totally different, yet complementary genre).
Simple Mathematics/Melody (I so couldn't decide between the two. Simple, shows the bands rock side, and there will be a lot of rock folk there. And Melody is so good and sweet it's been stuck in my head for the past few months. I'd expect the same to many in attendance. I guess I'd go for Simple Mathematics because Melody still isn't 100% finished.)
Your Damn Bell (w/ hip-hop) (it's a great song. great guitar solo. great hip-hop medley. if you don't believe me, just ask Tony the Tiger)
Thank You (no explanation necessary.) |
